Burnt Spur Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc 2006

Bizarrely, I smelt oysters to the nose when I first poured this wine.  Jane however didn’t agree, but did note that is was not as grassy as she would expect for a Marlborough Sauvignon.

This is quite a citrus-driven wine (which I did not expect in a Marlborough Sauvignon) and I found I also picked this up more on the nose after a few mouthfuls.

This is a lovely drop that has a nice level of tartness and is drinking well now.

  1. Hi Simon and Jane,
I have been doing a search for Auckland based blogs as I thought it would be great to get a group together. I am hosting a High Tea at the Gourmet Gannet, Muriwai on 12th December, there are 4 food bloggers so far, plus a few non bloggers but foodie fans all the same! If you would be interested to meet a few local food bloggers and indulge in some high tea pop over to www.gourmetgannet.co.nz to register. It would be cool to meet more faces behind the blogs. Thanks, Alli
