First real day in Tokyo

I started the day with a stroll and then a beef donburi for breakfast at a small shop in Shinjuku that seemed reasonably busy. They didn’t speak english but I managed to point my way through ordering.

I then popped back to the accommodation and met up with my mate Chris and we headed off on a walk to Shinjuku where we stopped for lunch.

We then wandered around, purchased various drinks from vending machines (the flashest one is pictured below),P1030328_020

popped onto a train,P1030329_021

before arriving at Shibuya Crossing (seen in numerous movies, inc Lost in Translation), where we spent a while getting a photo of Chris throwing his camper shoe in the air.

We had dinner at a korean restaurant in Shin-Okubo before heading to a very classy bar in Shinjuku. What has been interesting is the lack of tourists (it is however the of season being January); we have barely seen any.P1030381_039
